Our Sisters

We enjoy the opportunity to share our hospitality and work at Villa Sacred Heart with visitors through worship, special events, tours of the motherhouse and conversation. Please reach out and let us know of your interest in visiting. We’d love to learn more about you!

Basilica of Saints Cyril and Methodius

The Basilica of Saints Cyril and Methodius is a monument of faith. The donors of the chapel’s marble, mosaic stained glass, bronze, silver and gold worked in coal mines, steel mills, factories and on farms across America. Because it was built during the Great Depression and beginning of World War II, the chapel serves as a testament to thousands of people’s faith in God. The beautiful precious metals of the tabernacle, vaulted ceiling tiles, terrazzo floors and marble altar, baldachino and walls are a reminder of remarkable generosity during a time in history of great tribulation.

Adoration Chapel

Beneath the majestic Saint Cyril tower is a perpetual Adoration Chapel, opened in January 2001. The chapel is open daily to the public and accessed through the front doors of the stone motherhouse. Arrangements are not needed to visit the chapel.

Jankola Library and Slovak Museum

Jankola Library and Slovak Museum promote and preserve Slovak history, language and culture through collections of books, archives, artifacts and memorabilia. Jankola Library contains 20,000 books and offers additional educational resources including Slovak periodicals, newspapers and maps. The library contains rare and memorial books, Bibles and children’s literature, as well as Slovak music and plays. Slovak language kits are available for language instruction.
